Welcome to China Bible Mission!

Why We Exist

Posted on January 1st, 2007

China Bible Mission exists to meet the needs of China's growing underground church. Over 237,000 Bibles have been distributed by teams from the United States. This is a Christian Ministry with couriers coming from hundreds of different churches, but all with the same goal, to further the cause of Christ in China.

God had broadened China Bible Mission's focus to Vietnam, Bangladesh, Burma, and North Korea in recent years. Bible study materials and Children's ministry supplies have been taken to Vietnam. Support of many evangelists in Bangladesh has been raised. Groups have gone to teach, evangelize, and encourage the .44% Christian population. Over 300 different couriers have traveled to some of the most closed and 'hostile to Christian' counties in the world.

A little History

In 1986 the Lord (Jesus) made it clear to the founder and his wife that they were to be involved in taking Bibles into the underground (unregistered) Church of China. Since then there have been 22 trips to the Far East with teams of couriers from many denominations. In 2006, 26 couriers from 13 different churches carried in to china 4,000 pounds which amounted to 10,000 pieces of literature; including Bibles, tracts, booklets and teaching materials. Although there a few Bibles being printed (both legally and illegally) in China, these are no available to most Christians or inquirers who really desire them.

The Need is Great!

We must get God's word into China. Recently one underground leader asked China Bible Mission to bring 50,000 Bibles. The need is great, and you are need to take these precious Bibles to God's people.

According to the Bible League eNews for March 2007: '70 million Chinese Christians still waiting for Bibles.' Underground church needs Bibles While the Chinese government does supply a limited number of Bibles through "government-authorized" churches, 70 million Christians are still waiting for their own copy of God's Word. These are Christians of underground house church networks-churches not registered with the Communist-controlled "Three Self Patriotic Movement."

The Importance of the Bible in China

Posted on March 1st, 2007

Today the need to ground the church in China in the Word of God (Bible) is huge. Partly because the State ideology attacks those foundational truths - denying even that God exists. Partly because, as China modernizes, western humanism and godlessness flood in. Partly because there are powerful false teachings in China. It's amazing that anybody could every believe their teaching - unless they were Biblically untaught and so easily deceived.

A Great need for leadership training

China Partners' Erik Burklin says one of the greatest needs for growth in the Chinese church is the training of new leadership. One of the ways they're addressing this need is by opening Bible training centers in the rural areas.

Their teaching teams went to Sichuan province to help with Bible training at one of the lay training centers. "We had the privilege of training 270 lay pastors and lay leaders. And while we were there, we had the opportunity to do a two-day session with seminary students."

The training of the younger emerging Christian leaders, who primarily come from poor rural areas of China, need significant help. Most of these leaders will never have the opportunity to attend a regular Bible school or seminary. But each of them has the desire to be better equipped for ministry.

What the Bible Says

Romans 10:14-15

“ 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" ”

John 4:33

“Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for the harvest. ”

Psalms 119:103

“Thy Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. ”
